Welcome to the Piano Studio of Linda Featherston.  

My piano studio is located in Overland Park, just south of Oak Park Mall. I teach piano lessons Monday through Thursday during the school year and Tuesday through Thursday in the summer. 

I am a nationally certified teacher of music, which guarantees you a piano teacher that has achieved national standards set by Music Teachers National Association and regularly attends continuing education workshops and conferences. I hold a Bachelors of Music Education and a Masters of Music from Kansas State University.

The goal of my studio is to share my love of music and the piano with students of all ages. I also want to be certain that my students learn to read music well so that they can choose music on their own in the present and in the future. I primarily use the Faber's Piano Adventures series with my beginning students, but I pride myself in finding supplemental materials that fit both my students' educational needs and musical desires.

My students participate in two yearly piano recitals and one 'just for fun' holiday recital at a retirement community. Many students choose to participate in graded and ungraded events throughout the year. These include: KCMTA Fall Festival, KCMTA Multi Piano Concert, KMTA Music Progressions, KSHSAA Auditions, MSHSAA Auditions, KMTA Auditions, Piano Guild Auditions.

I am a member of Kansas City Music Teachers Association, Kansas Music Teachers Association, and National Guild of Piano Teachers. I am on the boards of both KCMTA and KMTA. I also regularly judge for these groups.
