Kansas Music Teachers Association is dedicated to helping each student experience the joy of music. Through its educational programs and activities, this organization will empower its members – teachers with high professional standards – to foster in students a lifelong commitment to music as patrons, performers, teachers, and hobbyists.

KMTA is a non-profit organization of music teachers in the state of Kansas. Many of our members have studio openings in a range of different instruments and levels. Our public “Find a Teacher” directory allows you to search for teachers by instrument, towns and zip codes.

Membership in KMTA and MTNA offers many benefits, including insurance program, legal counsel, student programs (recitals, competitions and auditions), regular professional meetings with guest speakers, state and national conference, National Certificate of Music Teaching (NCTM), and more.
Dear Fellow Piano Teachers,
As the holiday season approaches, I find myself reflecting on the many blessings that come with being part of this wonderful association. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve such a passionate and dedicated group of professionals. Together, we are shaping the future of music education, one student at a time.
This season, as we pause to celebrate and recharge, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the work each of you does throughout the year. Whether you’re teaching in a studio, a school, or virtually, your commitment to your students and the art of piano teaching is a gift that continues to enrich lives. I know this time of year can be busy, but I hope you’re able to find moments of joy, peace, and reflection as we close out the year.
Looking ahead to the new year, I want to invite you to make plans to attend the National Conference in March. Not only it is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow educators, share ideas, and gain inspiration that will fuel our teaching in the months ahead, this year's conference marks a landmark occasion: the 150th anniversary of MTNA! This year's conference will feature a particularly exciting range of workshops, masterclasses, and presentations, and I truly believe that the insights we’ll gain will empower us to continue growing as teachers as we also celebrate an extraordinary milestone in music education history.
Whether you’re attending for the first time or returning for another year, the National Conference offers something for everyone - a place where inspiration, innovation, and tradition converge. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to deepen your knowledge and share in the joy of connecting with a community that shares your passion.
Wishing you a joyful and restful holiday season, filled with peace, music, and time with loved ones.
Christina Liu, DMA, NCTM
